Caring for a combination to oily skin can sometimes be a challenge.

This skin type can be the result of many factors: skin dehydration, hormonal changes, sun exposure, air-conditioned indoor environments. Some visible signs also characterise it: larger pores in the T-zone (nose, forehead and chin), the skin is smooth but feels oily. Combination to oily skin overproduces lipids in the T-zone and underproduces in the other zones.

Such a skin type requires gentle cleansing without compromising the skin's protective barrier. Ditch any harsh cleansers and cleansers containing sulfates, which extract oil from the skin and stimulate the skin to produce more oil.

In your skincare routine for oily and combination skin, look for natural humectants, natural oils rich in linoleic acid, and anti-inflammatory ingredients that soothe the skin. Jojoba oil is especially beneficial because it's not an oil - it's a liquid wax that helps regulate moisture. Antioxidants protect the skin from harmful free radicals while promoting cell repair, stimulating collagen production and preventing wrinkles.

Morning routine

Cleanse: Moisten your facial skin with lukewarm water and massage in 2-3 pumps of re.start cleansing oil, a milky emulsion will immediately form. Rinse your face with lukewarm water (do not use hot water as it can stimulate oil production) and finish by rinsing with cold water to refresh and circulate the skin.

Prep
: Enjoy 2-3 spritzes of re.breezy mist on face and neck for a feeling of instant hydration and refreshment.

Care
: While your skin is still damp, gently massage 2 drops of re.water serum onto your face, neck and décolleté. You can add a drop of re.glow oil serum for extra care if you feel your skin is lacking lipids in some areas.

Evening routine

Let the evening ritual become your moment of rest, self-care, and love. Enhance the effects of Matinata products through your conscious touch.

Cleanse: Massage 2-3 pumps of re.start cleansing oil into dry skin. Be sure to massage, especially in areas where impurities accumulate (e.g. chin). Wet your hands and continue massaging your face until milky liquid forms. Rinse off with lukewarm water. You can intensify the cleansing process if you soak a face towel in warm water, drain it and wipe your face, enjoying the cleansed skin. In this way, you give the skin a very gentle exfoliation.

Prep: After cleansing, apply 2-3 spritzes of re.breezy mist to face and neck for a feeling of instant hydration and refreshment.

Care: gently massage in 2 drops of re.water serum. How does it feel on your skin? If you feel comfortable, you don't need to add a moisturiser. This way, you'll have moisturised skin with antioxidants that promote skin cell rejuvenation and balance. Don't forget the neck and décolleté.

Beyond skin surface

- Make sure you have an adequate intake of water.
- Eat a balanced diet for the benefit of the whole body and skin - essential fatty acids are important for hormone production. Eat foods rich in fibre, probiotics and vitamin A (sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, kale).
- Zinc plays an important role in regulating sebaceous gland activity.
- Avoid too many inflammation triggers (sugar, trans fats, constant stress, alcohol).
- Make sure you have a balanced sleep rhythm - it's not called beauty sleep for anything.
