About Matinata

Named for Mother Nature

Matinata joins mati, the Croatian word for mother, with nata, derived from nature. The collection was created to bring something genuinely distinctive to natural cosmetics: proven, minimalist skincare made with organic ingredients, scientific precision and the refined textures of prestige beauty.

Our origin

Matinata was founded by Ivanka Ćosić-Prižmić, an engineer who returned to study cosmetic chemistry, bringing an engineer's precision and a deep respect for nature to the original formulas. Development was supported by Prof. Dr. Nina Kočevar Glavač of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, and in part by European Union research funding.

Matinata today

The house is now owned by Natalie Boll and based in Mainz, Germany, continuing the original mission: certified organic, active skincare that nourishes the skin while respecting the planet.

Small-batch production

Every formula is made in small batches at a certified organic facility in Croatia. Rather than mass production, Matinata is created slowly and intentionally, with close attention to freshness, texture, aroma and skin feel — each batch manufactured to strict European cosmetic standards.
